Can someone explain how the lawyer files I-485(Does she e-file? or mail it to USCIS?) and how we know about it? How long does it take to know you have filed it? and how do we know about it?Lawyer mail the package to USCIS. Good lawyer tell their client tracking number and then send email with case numbers and copies of receipt notices.

I Left Company A on April 27, 2004. Joined Company B on April 28 through H1b Transfer as CompanyB told me that they have filed H1b transfer documents. Got H1b Approval in Few months; , The H1b approval notice shows a receipt date of May 15. CompanyA never reported my job termination to INS. Now i have left Company B and joined Company C. Can anyone comment on consequence of this 17 days gap on GC prospects and What is considered my employment start date for companyB and employment end date with CompanyA.

My H1b was approved in feb 2010 for location A.Before I could start working at location A,my company found a better client (close to home,better pay) at location B .(different state).
what should my company do or have done with regards to lca for me to work at location b.
should lca have been approved before I moved to location b or could it be filed after i started working at location b. If lca was filed after I started working, is that ok.If not, how do we correct this.

Kudos to Senator Chuck Schumer for raising the profile of a serious issue - discrimination against same-sex partners in US immigration law. Even as several states are enacting marriage equality laws and anti-discrimination laws are moving forward around the US (including here in my home town of Memphis), the antiquated Defense of Marriage Act prevents USCIS from treating these families fairly. The UAFA would be a huge step forward. The Senate will have its first hearing on the bill tomorrow. If no websites, find the address from the State Governor's website and send a letter explaning the situation. they will send you a document-release form. Fill that form and send copies of all the required documents for your case.
