My Personal Review for Cowboy Easy by Stormy Glenn

Stormy Glenn introduces us to a new series with some hot cowboy brothers. I got to admit this was one smokin' hawt story and one I am hoping to read again once I grab it in print.

My review for Cowboy Easy, Blaecleah Brothers Book 1
Siren Publishing
Available in Ebook and Print
MM Cowboy Contemporary Erotic Romance

Lachlan Blaecleah comes across two local bullies beating a strange man on the road. He never anticipated that saving this man’s life would bring him face to face with the one person who is meant to be his for all time. The minute he sets eyes on Asa Miller, the world stopped and Lachlan fell hard for the young man. Can Lachlan find a way to convince Asa to stay on with him after that one hot night together?

Asa Miller was stunned to look up and see a handsome cowboy saving his life. A knight in jeans and boots, Asa is wary of trusting something whenever life goes right for a change. Falling for someone like Lachlan has Asa in a confused knot. Can Asa find a way to trust the feelings he has for Lachlan in order to have his happily ever after?

Stormy Glenn delivers a new series to her readers and one that had me drooling the minute I met Lachlan and Asa. Holy smokin' hot was all I thought when we first met these sexy studs in the beginning and man, did Stormy Glenn keep the sexual tension flowing hot and fierce. I swear I all but melted when these two came together in a way that had me fanning myself to cool off.

The characters are well rounded and had some hidden vulnerabilities that had me intrigued and I was enthralled till the very end. Ms. Glenn definitely delivers in her introduction to the Blaecleigh Family and I am eager to see who gets hit next by the love bug.

If you are looking for a hot, western MM book, grab Cowbiy Easy and settle in for some hot manlove. I guarantee you will be wanting to grab the  next one in the series immediately after the last page is read.

[Ménage Amour: Erotic Cowboy Ménage Romance, M/F/M/M/M, Multiple Partners, BDSM, sex toys]

The Remingtons are faced with tremendous loss. Their father is gunned down in front of them and after the smoke clears, the only thing left is their need for revenge and their desire to protect those they love.

Leaving their lover in Italy, the Remington brothers return to Missouri with a plan to lure their enemies to their familiar homestead. Once there, they meet up with Veronica Leigh, an intelligent operative who seeks more than retribution for Wilson Remington’s death.

Veronica is in Missouri to discover a life she was never meant to lead. In the process, she finds a family she’s ready to claim for her very own, but in doing so, shares in their grief and heartache before she finds her way home.

Rated PG 13:

Veronica reached for her gun and hit the small fluorescent lamp at the same time. “Good God, you scared me to death. Don’t you believe in knocking?”
His eyes held hers to a challenge. Then, his gaze lowered, settling on her breasts. She’d slipped on the first thing she found and unfortunately, Dusty probably thought she chose the selection for him since he found his way to her room.
The lavender gown dipped low, and the cut of lace outlined the shape of her breasts. The material was so thin that if she stood up he would see her nipples and her pussy.
She lowered her weapon. “Is something wrong with Kelsie?”
“No,” he said, stripping his T-shirt over his head. “Something is wrong with me.”
“I could’ve told you that when I first met you,” she teased.
He knelt down on the bed and as he did, he grabbed her calves and then her hips, flipping her over on her stomach.
“What the hell are you doing?” she asked, wiggling.
With his palm to her lower back, he replied, “I’m giving you what you deserve.” Then he raised his hand and gave her a light smack, a playful swat across her backside.
“Like hell you are,” she said, kicking once and trying to roll over again.
“Don’t get all excited. You wanted a backrub. I’m here to rub.”
She felt a tingling sensation on the back of her neck. She didn’t need her body to help out with warnings. This wasn’t a good idea.
Dusty’s hands propelled over her shoulders. The balls of his hands massaged the area below the blades, and his fingers pressed into her flesh, crawling toward her neck.
“God, that feels good,” she purred. Now, she couldn’t send him away.
“I bet.” He maneuvered his hands to her nape and then squeezed and released her shoulders.
“What did you do, take lessons from a massage therapist?”
“When are you going to learn? Honey, I don’t need lessons in anything. I’m a trained professional in everything I do.”
“Don’t tempt me,” she said, closing her eyes. God help her, his hands spun pure magic.
He stopped abruptly and straddled her hips. “Are you?”
“Hmm?” she asked dreamily. “Am I what?” Her eyes popped open and she stared at the dim light barely visible under the door.
His palms skimmed across her body, and he kneaded the skin right above her hips. “Do I tempt you?”
God, yes, he was the most enticing man she’d ever encountered in her life, but she didn’t want him to betray Kelsie, and most of all, she never wanted to do anything to hurt either of them. “You’re all right on a rainy day,” she finally admitted.
He stopped again, lowering his lips to her nape. He didn’t kiss her but instead whispered against her skin. “I’m better than all right especially during a violent storm, and you should see how I heat up those hot summer nights.”
“Damn, my sister must’ve stroked that ego a whole lot through the years.”
He snickered. “Her and a few other ladies I’ve encountered along the way.”
“Bragging?”
He gripped the sides of her waist and ran his hands up and down her sides, stopping before he clutched more than skin and bones. God help her, she’d love for him to try just so she could know what one touch from him felt like. As the guilt consumed her for wishing such a thing, she whispered, “Dusty, I think you need to go.”
“Why?”
“You know why.”
He kissed her back and smoothed his hands over her gown. “I don’t want to leave you, but you’re probably right. If I don’t go now, I’m going to do something we’ll both regret.”
“Then you should go,” she said, turning to her side so she could study his face.
“I—”
“You what?”
“I want you.” He ran his hand through his dark hair. “God help me, I can’t sleep for thinking about you. When Bob left here with you, I was so fucking angry. I wanted to kill someone, fight like hell to get you back, and I couldn’t breathe. God, Veronica, I couldn’t fucking breathe until I saw you again.”
She stared into his hooded eyes and, sure enough, saw the heavy weight of lust and guilt, a fine mixture of the pleasure he wanted and the pain having anything to do with another woman would potentially bring. “Dusty, you should leave.”

12 Days of Christmas Blog Tour with Destiny Blaine

Thank you for joining us on the 12 Days of Christmas Blog Tour. It's nice to be here.
Of all of your wonderful novels, which has been the easiest to write?
Lying Eyes

Why?
I’ve spent a lot of time in casinos so I can write from personal experience. With Lying Eyes, I wrote the kind of book I’d want to read—with plenty of poker and romance—plus I love the hero, Max. He was created from a very vivid imagination and inspired by someone I know well.

Which book was the most difficult to write and why?

Winning Virgin Devotion was the most difficult to write. There were too many paranormal creatures ‘talking to me’ all at one time.

What’s one day in the life of Destiny Blaine like?

I have an office down the street now so by the time I make it there,  it’s generally 9:00. The day is always full of writing, edits, answering email, preparing promo, working on advertising campaigns, and reviewing contracts. I try to wind it down by 7:00 or 8:00 in the evening but that’s not always possible, especially right now when I have so much already sold for 2011.

Did you have a hard time when you first started sending out your manuscripts for publication?

No, but the rules didn’t apply to me then, thank goodness. I began as a ghost writer so I didn’t have to wait by the in-box or phone for an acceptance or rejection—someone else did that prior to hiring me. However, those rejections eventually found their place in my in-box just like they find their place in every writer’s mailbox. I just didn’t experience them in the beginning, which was nice.

Do you have a favorite couple, character from your books?

Writing as Destiny Blaine—Gabriel and Constance from the Winning Virgin books remain a favorite but Kane and Peyton are my all-time favorite couple from Sex Party (writing as Natalie Acres).

Are you your worst critic?

Absolutely. I’m not in competition with anyone except maybe myself. I don’t care what Joe Blow down the street is selling, writing, or achieving.  I wish him well. However, I’m vested in what I’m writing, how it’s selling, and how well it outsold what I released last. That’s just me.

All authors compete for those top spots on best selling lists. I’ve been there.  I’ve achieved that and hope to see my name there again, but I’m not focused on best selling lists now. I’m focused on becoming a better writer, writing tighter stories, delivering what my readers want and expect, and achieving other goals. There’s more to life than hitting the best seller lists and thanks to my readers, I’ve been there more than I ever expected.  My main career focus is writing my next book and working on a few other writing projects. That’s all.

Who do you consider the perfect writer?

I don’t know a perfect writer. Every writer possesses flaws.  None of us are perfect. We’re all writers on a journey. We’re writers in progress. I guess the ‘perfect’ writer is the writer who knows he or she isn’t the greatest writer of all time and even if he or she is pretty damn close, they recognize there’s always room for improvement.

Do you still get a thrill when you see your book being published on bookstore shelves?
I don’t think so. That part is gone. I don’t enjoy my job any less but I’m not biting nails until my e-book is released or another print book hits the shelves.  Then again, I’ve been fortunate and with about two new book releases a month,  under one pen name or another, there’s not a lot of time to celebrate. There’s always another book to write.

A Sneak Peek into Cowboys For Christmas
Available at Aspen Mountain Press December 16th, 2010

Julie Kensworth opens her door to more than a blizzard and greets two wayward cowboys. She realizes right away she’s headed straight for the eye of the storm.

Brandon Blake and Quinn Stewart are a long way from home. They’re looking for a warm place to hang their hats while they try to wait out the snow and ice, which continues to gain momentum.

Julie is an author and she’s not just the average writer, she’s one of the most notorious writers in the world. When Quinn and Blake figure out Julie is an erotic romance author, well, needless to say, their minds churn with all sorts of ideas, most of them geared toward how they can heat up the cold winter nights ahead.
Sneak Peek Excerpt:
“I don’t know why you’re pouting,” Brandon spat a few minutes later, noticing Quinn’s frown. “She didn’t tell us to hit the road. She just told us to wait out here until she dressed.”
“I guess I was hoping for an explicit expression of gratitude.”
Brandon pointed toward the mantle. “Don’t forget. She probably has a boyfriend.”
“The boyfriend isn’t what I’ve been thinking about. What I’m wondering is why she has so many of those Carla Carrington books.”
Julie strolled into the kitchen like a breath of fresh air. She lit up the place with an easy smile and a refreshing stroke of confidence. “Carla Carrington is my pseudonym.”
“Do huh?” Brandon asked, chin dropping.
“Your pseudonym?” Quinn asked for clarification.
“Yeah,” Julie said. “I’m a writer.”
Brandon felt like something was stuck in his chest. She wasn’t just a writer. She was the best selling, award-winning author of scorching hot books often made into explicit after-dark television movies. He’d never admit the truth, but he’d watched a few of those movies. Carla Carrington’s name had been on the lips of quite a few talk show hosts who openly criticized the demise of morals in today’s world. Carla wrote the kind of books that Brandon wouldn’t have let his daughter read—assuming he had a daughter, which he didn’t. On the other hand, if he had a wife, Carla’s books would’ve been mandatory reading.
“You said you’re a writer.” Brandon cleared his throat. “But Carla Carrington is—”
“I’m Carla,” she interrupted. “I write under a couple of pseudonyms.”
Quinn looked around the small cottage. He was probably thinking the same thing Brandon was. Why did she live in such a small house? Wouldn’t Carla Carrington reside in an oceanfront mansion with a full crew doting on her, bringing her chocolate-covered mints and arranging social events?
The woman behind the world’s most scandalous writing should not have been dressed in hide-tight blue jeans with a low-cut fitted sweater and her hair tossed up in a clumsy ponytail. A woman writing explicit scenes like the one Brandon had read earlier should not have looked like an adorable barely legal girl!
Brandon  shifted his weight from one foot to the other. “How old are you?”
“Twenty-six, why?”
“Just curious. That’s all.”
“Do you have a boyfriend?” Quinn blurted out.
Way to fucking go! Brandon set his jaw. As he watched the color drain from Julie’s cheeks, he shot Quinn a cold stare. “You can quit foaming at the mouth any time now.”
Quinn didn’t say anything. Brandon braced for fighting words, maybe even a good swift kick in the ass.
What the hell! Quinn started this. “Do you have a boyfriend?” Brandon would die right there if she said she had a husband.
“No, I do not.” She marched across the kitchen, opened the pantry and retrieved two jars of her homemade soup, setting the large containers on the small island in the kitchen’s center. “Anyone hungry?”
Brandon grinned, staring at her ass. “Honey, I’m practically starving.”

Getting to know Jan Irving

Tell us a bit about your latest book, and what inspired you to write such a story.

My latest book just out is Jesse, a contemporary western from Loose Id. I wanted to do a May/December romance of a hard working ranch foreman, Kyle Jacobs, and Jesse Coulter, a twenty year old who takes a job working for Kyle—he’s in love with him, even though Kyle was once his older brother’s lover.

What are you working on now? Anything you want to tell us about?

I’m working on A Barley Moon, a paranormal western contemporary romance. Rafael Coulter is a cougar shifter and ranger who lives in the mountains, sheltering a band of misfits. When dedicated teacher Angel Stone arrives at his door with a young boy he claims is Rafael’s son, Rafe is not happy. He doesn’t want to be a father, but Angel may not give him a choice. I’m also working on an unusual m/m/f ménage which I think will be a lot of fun.

What books are currently on your nightstand/bedside? Anything coming you are dying to read?

I’m anticipating reading J.C. Owens’ The Emperor’s Wolf. I read the other stories by this author and enjoyed them. I am also reading Nora Roberts Black Hills.

If one of your books were to be made into a movie, which book would you choose and who do you see playing your characters and why?

I think probably The Janitor. Maybe a young Colin Firth as Noel, the shy graduate student who falls for boxer and janitor, Dane. Dane would be played by Ian Somerhalder. Why it would be a good film is Dane is a very endearing hero who winds up in the boxing ring at that climax of the book.

What is your favorite pizza toppings?

I sometimes go hiking on a small island with a fantastic wood fire oven pizzeria. My favorite is olive oil, cracked salt and fresh rosemary, only that.

Which do you prefer:Mac or PC?

PC. I’ve never used a Mac.

What’s the worst thing you’ve ever done to one of your characters?

I think probably when I killed a father figure one of my heroes loved deeply. But I had to do it.

Which of your books contains the sexiest love scene? (if you have one that is J)

That’s a tough question. I usually like whatever one I’ve done most recently. I think it would be a tie between Mastering Toby and Jesse. There is a threesome in Mastering Toby and in Jesse, the first kiss leads to a pretty explosive scene.

Which of your covers is your favorite?

Very tough question. I think I’ll have to go with April Martinez’ cover for my first book The Janitor. It’s riveting.

Which of your books was the easiest to write?

Most recently Jesse was the easiest because I wrote it in a white heat over six weeks. I didn’t work on anything else except for edits of other material during that time, really swept away.

What is the hardest part of writing your books?

Sometimes the endings are very hard. I sometimes add something to them later, like with Luke, I added an epilogue a few months after I finished the novella.

Do you use a pen name? If so, how did you come up with it?

I write under Jan Irving but it’s not quite my full name, so there is a degree of separation.

Where can readers find you on the ‘net for more information on you, your books and other fun stuff?

Sneak Peek Excerpt: Jesse by Jan Irving
Loose Id Publishing
M/M Contemporary Western

When Jesse Coulter roars up on a Harley one dusty afternoon back into ranch foreman Kyle Jacob's life, Kyle is confronted with everything forbidden he has wanted for years. Jesse is twenty years old, with a ruff of dark hair and blue eyes that remind Kyle of the heart of a lit gasoline flame, yet Kyle can’t let himself touch Jesse because not only is he too young, he's the brother of Kyle's lost lover Mac.

That they also share an uncanny telepathic bond hasn’t made things any easier for an ordinary working cowboy; Kyle is drawn into Jesse’s dreams of him as the hot older man Jesse holds captive, pleasuring him every night with Jesse’s raw man-takes-man brand of lovemaking. But Kyle and Jesse face other problems to their unconventional romance. Jesse has custody of his vulnerable younger brother who aches for a stable home, and an enemy from Kyle’s past is threatening not only his beloved draft horses and carriage business but the new life and family he yearns for.
Publisher's Note: This book contains explicit sexual content, graphic language, and situations that some readers may find objectionable: BDSM elements, male/male sexual practices.

Excerpt:

When Jesse Coulter roared up on his battered Harley, a dust cloud a high plume behind him, Kyle ducked behind the bunkhouse on the Double M Ranch.

Ducked, hell. Here he was, the foreman, and he was hiding! He pulled off the leather gloves he'd been wearing while working in the horse barn and wiped his damp, shaking palms on his dusty jeans, tears burning his eyes.

Jesse.

He couldn't stop himself from taking another look at the young man as he removed his motorcycle helmet, his dark brown hair still cut short, but spiky at the front. His lean face was on the long side, with a trace of early beard on his chin, adding the texture of manhood to his olive skin. But it was his eyes that made Kyle feel like he'd taken a punch, eyes the pale blue flame of a lighter flaring in the dark.

His lover Mac's kid brother. Kyle had missed Jesse intensely, an ache in his gut.

Kyle hadn't seen Jesse since the day of Mac's funeral. He squeezed his eyes shut, remembered pulling up in his truck at the ranch that terrible day, Jesse and his younger brother, David, crammed together in the passenger side, Jesse looking at Kyle so Kyle could see his bewilderment. Why had Mac died?

"Jesus, kid, I don't know." Kyle's voice had broken as he undid his seat belt. It'd been an accident. Looking for reasons… He couldn't help doing it too while the clock ticked in his empty bedroom.

Jesse had helped the dazed twelve-year-old David out of his seat belt from habit. They'd all stumbled from the truck, the boys wearing black jeans and T-shirts because there'd been no time to purchase suits for Mac's funeral. Suddenly David had thrown himself into Kyle's arms.

"He's never coming back," he’d whispered.

Holding on to David, rubbing his back, Kyle had felt lost. He had been forty-one, and he'd felt lost. He'd stared at Jesse, at the single tear that tracked down his cheek before dripping off the edge of his jaw. "Jesse," he had whispered, aching to give comfort. Kyle took a deep breath and tried the other way to communicate with Jesse, to offer him what solace he could.

"Jesse, I don't know why Mac's gone. It doesn't make sense."

Jesse's jaw ticked, and for a long moment Kyle thought he wouldn't make use of the strange telepathic bond that linked them. Hell if Kyle understood it, but from the moment Mac had brought his younger  brothers to the ranch, Kyle had been able to pick up on Jesse's thoughts sometimes.
"I have to take care of David. How do I do that?"

Jesse's voice sounded like everything that made him Jesse. Like his love of tinkering with engines at school, like a fork of lightning before connecting with a tree.
"You and David will always have a home here with me. We'll find a way to stay a family, I promise you.”
